Experience - WHF Direct Photographic Workshops

WHF Direct Photographic Workshops are aimed at photographers of all levels (beginner to advanced) wishing to learn and take the best pictures of both big and small cats in a relaxed atmosphere.

Learn the techniques that professionals have used for years to get their special shots for book covers and magazines. Coming direct with WHF you get a specially structured tour of the site.

You get full tuition - learning how to get the best from your camera in simple talk, learn the most up to date information about photography and about the cats. Check the events calendar for our current Photo workshops. The days are very popular and we get international interest.

Schedule of day:

  • 1000hrs - Welcome and coffee.
  • 1015 hrs - Initial photographic tuition & camera set up.
  • 1030 hrs - Tour including Captive Wildlife photographic tuition.
  • 1300 hrs - A light lunch.
  • 1330 hrs - Second tour, further tuition in the field
  • 1530 hrs - Tea break.
  • 1545 hrs - Final tour.

A debrief will take place at the end of the day.

The team is both knowledgeable and friendly always looking at getting you the best photos available.

We accommodate small groups only. You can support the cats direct and gain special unrivalled access to the cats that no other photographic workshop is able to provide.  They remain within their enclosures, but photographers are permitted within the safety fences, unlike other parks.

You will be the first to be invited to see any new arrivals on site. When you provide you e-mail address at the end of your day you will be sent a photographic tips document and a list and picture package of all the cats to assist in your naming of the cats you have met.

Join us to have the best day in your life!

Equipment to bring:

Bring all your equipment with you. The recommended lens is in the region of 70-300mm or equivalent. Most modern compact cameras can easily match this too, so bring it along either as your main camera or a back up.

Some of the best shots taken on site are taken with the smaller cameras. Otherwise you can use anything from fish eye to 800mm if you wish.

Don't forget spare batteries, memory cards/back up computer, rubber lens hood if you have one, kneeling pads if you have them and waterproofs.

You will not require mono pods or tripods.
